From the Labyrinth to the Light
Summer School 2000
July 5th to 10th
Ottawa (Canada)
The second annual Summer School experience of the BIH Canada and
the Hahnemann Center for Heilkunst was held in July, on the 122-acre campus of Ottawa's
Carleton University. With the campus being located between the Rideau Canal
and the Rideau River, there was an abundance of green space and
natural beauty in which to appreciate the magnificence of Hahnemann and his
remedial art.
It featured six full days of insights into the therapeutics and practical applications of Hahnemann's Heilkunst.
Day One and Two, July 5-6 (Wednesday & Thursday):
An introduction to Hahnemann's Heilkunst with a focus on treating the
Homogenic, Pathogenic and Iatrogenic domains. This class was for those ready
to learn to practice using isotherapeutic treatment in a sequential manner.
A must for anyone wishing to work toward a CCD certification from the
Hahnemann Center for Heilkunst.
Day Three, July 7 (Friday):
Natural Law Jurisdictions: The role of nutrition, regimen, homotoxicology,
drainage and detoxification; how it relates to medicine, and in which
jurisdiction they are working.
Day Four, July 8 (Saturday):
The Miasms and Beyond! Understanding miasms, seeing miasms more easily in
our patients, and understanding disease dimensions beyond the miasms,
including the chthonic and the ideogenic realms.
Day Five, July 9 (Sunday):
In the morning session, Patty Smith FHCH, DVHH, RHom. and Jonathan
Wright DVM offered a discussion on Veterinary Heilkunst, including cases
illustrating the process and how it is used with animals, from birds to cats
to dogs to horses!
Therapeutic Tips!
In the afternoon, the focus was on the exploration of the practicalities of
prescribing for humans and animals, including administration of the
remedies, therapeutic tips and techniques, palliation, suppression, healing
reactions, treating acutes and the difference between healing and cure.
Days Six, July 10 (Monday):
The discussion and presentation on Therapeutic Tips continued with a
fascinating discussion on drug/drug and drug/herb interactions and nutrient
depletion in patients who are using either drugs or herbs for their
complaints. Francois Jooste facilitated and discussed his research
into "potentised allopathy!"
Case Discussions!
The afternoon wound down this year's Summer School with Case
Discussions.
The extent of disease and its origins constantly amaze. The more we examine
disease, the more complex it reveals itself to be. It is like landing on the
shores of a vast new continent, unexplored, with no map.
